Good day! Welcome to NCParkour's Library, an ongoing project of body-weight exercises, drills, movements, and articles to help you with your physical fitness and guide you to training with others. With our videos, we hope that the exercises give you an idea on how to target different parts of the body, strengthen the joints and muscles, and inspire you to mix up your workout routines with variations. In addition to exercises, we offer insight on what to bring to jams, how to approach security, and more.

What are bodyweight exercises? Why train bodyweight exercises?

Bodyweight exercises are physical movements to build and develop strength, agility, and endurance using only the body. Its simple movements and body-weight resistance allow people of all fitness levels to apply working out practically anywhere. You can apply exercises to a variety of muscle groups instead of isolating and focusing particular muscles while promoting flexibility, strength, and muscular endurance.

Flexibility - How far can you reach? To increase flexibility, you simply stretch. Flexibility is important because it allows the muscles more extension over the joints when they contract, reduces the risk of injury, relaxes your body, and increases body awareness. You can focus on flexibility through a range of dynamic movements or static holds.

Strength - How high can you jump? Building strength can be a natural activity. By exercising, the joints and bones are toughened and muscles are built. Functional strength can be built by working on specific muscle groups that you use everyday.

Muscular Endurance - How long can you go? Endurance sees you physically exhausting your body as well as your mind. By building your muscular endurance, you develop the strength and will to last longer. By performing exercises in higher reps, you can build this type of endurance.

How do I get started?
It's best to begin with the basics - push-ups, pull-ups, and abs. Find a friend to push you to an extra repetition or work out with you. As you excel with the basic exercises, begin to mix up your routine with variations, add different exercises that focus on your weaker muscle groups, or try increasing your maximum number of repetitions. Visit the forums to talk to members of the website. Many of these individuals have backgrounds in a variety of sports and can offer you their experience.
